American Heart Association BLS/HCP [730001] |

|
For EMT’s, those in nursing profession, lifeguards, coaches, law enforcement personnel, security personnel, firefighters, and others in health and public safety. This is a non-profit course. Fees charged for this course are used to provide proper supplies, equipment, and staff. The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in BLS, ACLS, and PALS and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the Association. |

This program meets DOT guidelines and is offered under the direction of the Ohio Department of Public Safety, Division of EMS. Course content prepares students to take the National Registry EMT Exam (exam not included in the course fee.) After satisfactorily completing the didactic and clinical portions, and passing the NREMT examination, students are eligible to apply for state certification. |

EMT, Basic Refresher [730006] |

Earns CEU credits for the practicing EMT-Basic. Course includes EMT roles and responsibilities, patient assessment, airway, cardiac arrest, trauma management, medical OB & GYN, pediatric, and geriatric situations. |

Firefighting - Basic Volunteer [730007] |

Designed to meet or exceed certification requirements established in the Ohio Revised Code for Volunteer Firefighters, and part of the training standards identified in NFPA 1001. |

Firefighter Level I [730009] |

Designed to take the volunteer firefighter into firefighting as a career. Course is offered under the direction of the Ohio Department of Public Safety. |

Firefighter Level II [730010] |
|
|
|
|
This course equals NFPA standards for Firefighting Level II. Admission requirements: Hold current Level I Firefighters certification; have an approved Self Contained Breathing Apparatus and gear that meets the Industrial Commission Administrative Code; pass a physical examination 60 days prior to their appointment. |

A 40 hour course designed for firefighters, police officers, and industry workers who may be called to assist in an emergency situation. Topics include preparatory; airway, cardiac, illness and injury management; patient assessment; children and childbirth. Successful completion of all written and practical examinations can result in the student being certified as a First Responder by the State of Ohio. |

EMT Intermediate Certification Program [730012] |

This program builds on the existing knowledge and skill of the EMT-Basic certification in the following areas: roles and responsibilities of the advanced-level provider, pre-hospital environment, preparatory skills including advanced patient assessment, medical communications, advanced airway management, defibrillation, epinephrine administration, pain and shock management with intravenous fluid therapy. This course provides the foundation for state and National Registry Certification at the intermediate level. |

First Responder Refresher [730013] |

The First Responder Refresher curriculum is the minimum acceptable content that must be included in any Ohio First Responder refresher educational program. This program consists of 15 classroom hours. First Responders who successfully complete this course must demonstrate competency through written and practical testing over the knowledge and skills outlined in this refresher education program prior to receiving a certificate of completion. |

EVOC I - Emergency Vehicle Operators Course [730015] |

Course includes classroom only modules of the US DOT National Standard Curriculum. Topics covered: Legal Aspects, Communications, Inspection, Maintenance, Navigation, and operation in both Normal and Emergency Mode. |

EVOC II - Emergency Vehicle Operators Course [730016] |

Course includes EVOC I and practical driving modules of the US DOT National Standard Curriculum. Meets the new Ohio Firefighter 1 & 2 requirements. Students must contact Miami Valley CTC at 854-6094 to schedule vehicles if not providing their own department vehicle. |

American Heart Association HeartSaver CPR & AED [730017] |
|

|
This basic lifesaving course is for the general public. Covers: CPR, AED (Automated External Defibrillator) use, and relief of choking in adults and children; infant CPR and relief of choking. The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in CPR and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. |

Managing Company Tactical Operations: Tactics [730020] |

A 16-hour course designed by the National Fire Academy to develop the company commander's supervisory and management capabilities in structural firefighting operations. This course examines the critical elements of situation assessment and decision making for structural firefighting operations. The focus of this program is on residential (single & multi-family) and small commercial occupancies. Topics include: ventilation; rescue; fire control; property conservation and support activities. Prerequisites: MCTO:P & MCTO:DM (this is course #3 in a 3-part MCTO series). |
