Blueprint Reading for Welding [550003] PDF Print E-mail

Introductory course that covers basic symbols, line identification, interpreting work sketches, blueprints and terminology.  Students perform basic math and use worksheets and sample prints. Students will also build a small weldment from a print.

 
Mig Welding I [550004] PDF Print E-mail

Includes all position welding of mild steel using basic joint geometry.  Students will use .035 inch E70S-6 wire with 75-25 argon, CO2 shielding gas. Includes some welding of aluminum in the flat and vertical position.  On the first night of class, students should bring MIG gloves, safety glasses, side cut wire cutters and pliers or vice grips.

 
Tig Welding I [550005] PDF Print E-mail

Covers flat, horizontal, and vertical welding of mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum using basic joint geometry. In lab, students will use pure and 2% thoriated tungsten, shielded with argon gas.  Student should bring TIG gloves, safety glasses and pliers or vice grips to the first class.

 
Tig Welding II [550008] PDF Print E-mail

Covers all position welding on 1/16 inch or less mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum using basic joint geometry.  Prerequisite: Tig Welding course or a minimum of one (1) year experience in Tig welding.

 
Mig Welding II [550009] PDF Print E-mail

Learn flat, vertical up, and overhead positions using 3/16 inch to 1/2 inch thick mild steel.  This course will also cover the proper procedure for oxy-acetylene, plasma cutting and braze welding.  Prerequisite: Basic Mig Welding course or a minimum of one (1) year experience in Mig welding.

 
Shielded Metal Arc I [550012] PDF Print E-mail

Covers all position welding of mild steel using basic joint geometry with 1/8 inch and 3/32 inch diameter stick electrodes of various types.  Also covers the proper procedure for oxy-acetelyne and plasma cutting.  Students should bring safety glasses, welding gloves, and pliers or vice grips to the first class.

 
Shielded Metal Arc II [550013] PDF Print E-mail

Covers all position welding of mild steel using 3/16 inch to 1/2 inch thick mild steel.  This course will also cover the proper procedure for oxy-acetylene and plasma cutting.  Students have the option to test for certification at an additional cost.
